Cul-de-sac Heroine

Bored of endless coffee mornings and tennis coach fantasies, our Retro Housewife leads her like minded girlfriends on exotic fantasy trips during their “Martini afternoons”.

Empowered by the lucidity of their journeys, Ekaterina Kukhareva draws upon a hallucinogenic palette, mixing vivid fuchsias with scarlet and violet, in her signature knits of viscose and lana wool.

Each season, the Kukhareva brand hones its knitted fabric skills, and for AW13/14, the skilful positioning of pattern placement accentuates the female form. Emphasised this season, by contouring the body with dinner plate outlines; Of course, in her fantasies, our Heroine uses Byzantine and Ottoman dishes. This decoration makes for stunning floor length body-con pieces, as well as quirky biker jackets and narrow leg heavyweight trousers.

Light knit lurex dresses skim the body like breath from a Shisha pipe, whilst woollen knee lengths takes a girl from the Souk to the School run.

Hairpieces, bags & jewellery designed by Lara Jensen. Since winning the Harold Tilman Scholarship for design, Lara’s clients include: Lady Gaga, Karl Lagerfeld and The Rolling Stones.
